Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, separate from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then paid off his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can expect learning which adventurers will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on October 24.
